Towers

Alghero retains eight towers of its walls in the old city and eleven along the coast, strategically positioned one in front of the other to convey any signs of danger.
The most curious is the Torre di San Giacomo, which has an unusual octagonal shape, and the Torre della Maddalena with protruding drainers to throw oil and boiling water on the enemies. Among the coastal ones, the most evocative is certainly that of Pegna, built on a promontory of coral fishermen, between the Porto Conte Park and Capo Caccia
